As a wedding photographer, I love weddings filled with personal details. It's such a joy to look around on a wedding day and see your personality shine through and who you are as a couple. There's so many amazing ways to accomplish this and I have a few that I've favorited in the past.
1 | Pick a meaningful location. A piece of family land, a city you traveled to as a couple, your hometown church, find a place that reflects a part of your relationship. As a wedding photographer, it's so special to hear about the location you decide on and capture those elements on your wedding day.
2 | Make something unique together. You don't have to follow any wedding trends because guess what, your day is about you. Do you love to do something together that may seem a little different then most weddings you've been to? Show off to your guests then! I've photographed weddings were they created poster invitations together, where the bride used fabric from a family members wedding dress for boutonnieres, or the couples made mix tapes for everyone because that's how he proposed.
3 | Wear a piece of family jewelry. This is such a simple and sweet way to add a special touch to your wedding day. You don't even have to wear a piece of jewelry, I've seen jewelry added to bouquets to remember a family member.
These three things are so easy to do, but make a huge different in photographing your wedding. I want every couple's story to shine through on their wedding day. Brainstorm with your sweet and think of something unique and special you can do on your wedding day. I'd love to hear about your ideas as well!
