I've been getting a lot of questions about eating high fat, low carb and while I do have plans to create a blog down the road I thought I would start by putting together a little resource page that will hopefully help if you decide to jump on this journey. I first off want to say that I am not a health expert and that things that work for me may not work for you. Listen to your body, and your doctor and you'll be good.
One of the biggest questions I get asked is about my shopping list or what I buy regularly.
If you're not sure where to start shopping I suggest Thrive Market. They have great prices compared to other health food stores and it gets delivered right to your door. So if you're somewhere like me and don't have a trader joes and don't have as many health option as a major city check out their website, you'll get 25% off your first order, plus free shipping. Each one of these items links out to the item and is a great starting place if you're looking to try eating high fat, low carb.
Resources - books, podcasts & More!
Healthful Pursuit - Everything this woman puts out is amazing and is a great starting place if you're looking to dive into the keto world
These three cookbooks are amazing for starting out and are filled with so much awesome info and tasty recipes!
I love a good podcast, these are my favorite all about keto.
If you're looking for more recipes, pinterest is always a good starting place. My recommendation is that there is a lot of dairy in the keto world, and to limit how much dairy you're consuming each day. If you can handle dairy go for it, just make sure you're listening to your body!
Along with adapting to a keto lifestyle I've jumped on the essential oil train. Maybe a little late to that club, but they are such an amazing thing to add to your life. I decided to go with Young Living because of their promise of high quality, the product quality and the community involved with oils. If you haven't added essential oils to your life I highly recommend it to help with anxiety, and all those extra stresses of life.
